It is said that people began wearing mini skirts in Ancient Egypt. But today, let’s look at a more recent history of this iconic piece.
Before the actual mini skirt was invented, it’s important to recall the evolution of the skirts before it. It was not before the 1920s that hemlines rose to the knees, thanks to the invention of the flapper look. With a pause in the 1930s, shorter skirts and dresses came back into fashion (they were still knee-lenght, though) during the Second World War when designers had to save on the fabrics due to strict rationing.
