You might be familiar with modeling agencies, which represent models, but did you know that fashion agencies also represent other talents such as stylists, photographers, creative directors, and even hair and makeup artists and manicurists?

Whether you want to pursue a creative career, such as becoming a stylist, art director, or photographer, or you simply want to understand how the industry works, today’s issue will explain how fashion agencies operate. 

What’s a fashion agency?

Fashion agencies are an integral part of the fashion industry, acting as intermediaries between a talent (the model, the stylist, the photographer…) and clients (fashion brands, magazines…). 

These agencies are diverse and specialized, focusing on different niches within the industry, such as models, stylists, creative directors, photographers, and even hair and makeup artists and manicurists. Most of them are specialized in a region (say they represent talents in Europe or the US or both).
