What happened in the industry this week? 💚
Okay, fashion friend — let’s talk Balenciaga.
You’ve probably already heard that Pierpaolo Piccioli (yes, Valentino’s Pierpaolo!) is officially Balenciaga's new creative director. Big deal, right? He will start on July 10 and unveil his first collection in October during Paris Fashion Week. Anticipation is high, and I cannot wait to see what he will do at Balenciaga!
But before we get excited for what’s coming, I figured it’s the perfect time to take a step back and look at how wild the journey of this brand has been.
So I wrote a piece that retraces its creative evolution, from Parisian couture greatness to closure (yep!), and back again, this time with streetwear cool. Click here to read it and let me know your thoughts! About the brand, the creative directors, and what Piccioli’s Balenciaga will look like, in your opinion :)
Louis Vuitton goes to Avignon
Source: Vogue
Louis Vuitton staged a Cruise 2026 show in Avignon at the Palais des Papes. This is just another spectacular location, but a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has ever welcomed a fashion house for a runway before Louis Vuitton. The collection felt medieval but modern, leaving spectators and critics (and us) in awe.
Victoria Beckham presents a Resort collection in New York City
Source: WWD
Victoria Beckham staged a resort 2026 show Tuesday morning at Centurion New York, in partnership with American Express. The city, the skyline 😍 Speaking of a perfect location. And a symbolic, too, as it all began in New York for Victoria Beckham, where she unveiled her first-ever collection of 10 dresses at the nearby Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Gabriela Hearst launches a tailored bespoke program
Source: WWD
Gabriela Hearst Tailored Bespoke is a new program offering customized, luxe, made-to-order suits across all its flagship boutiques in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
Hearst says suiting is their “fastest-growing category in ready-to-wear”, accounting for “24 percent of the brands ready-to-wear sales year-to-date. The idea is to offer both women and men “things that are special and different, especially when you see this industrialization of luxury,” she told WWD. Prices start at $4,550.
Net-a-porter x Isabel Marant
Net-a-porter is launching a high summer capsule collection with Isabel Marant next Tuesday. The 19-piece capsule includes ready-to-wear, bags, and accessories ranging from $420 to $2,675.
Vespa drops another summer capsule
Source: WWD
Just like fashion expands to other industries, we also see the reverse movement. Take, for example, Vespa’s launch of a summer capsule, which is their third, as part of their lifestyle project introduced last year, for anyone who wants to drive fashionably.
The summer edit capsule collection includes ready-to-wear and accessories with Western styles, retailing at between 90 euros and 1,900 euros. It launches on the Vespa website and will be available at the Vespa pop-up shop inside Florence’s Rinascente department store between June 3- 23.
Missoni is in the air

The Italian fashion brand has extended the partnership with Delta airline, collaborating on a luxurious Delta One collection. It includes a Missoni bedding set designed specifically for Delta, along with Missoni’s suite of amenities, such as custom socks, slippers, and an eye mask.
“In travel, every moment matters — not just where you’re going, but how you get there,” said Mauricio Parise, vice president of brand experiences at Delta, and we couldn’t agree more.
Sézane to open a pop-up in East Hampton
Source: WWD
“There’s nothing like the Hamptons in the summer,” some say. And nothing like shopping in the Hamptons. That’s why the Parisian label Sézane joined the ranks of other luxury brands to open the doors to its brand new and first-ever pop-up store in East Hampton, at LDV at The Maidstone. From June 20 to July 29, customers will be able to shop a curated selection of Sézane’s bestselling essentials and accessories, alongside an exclusive selection of limited-edition pieces designed for the season, at prices ranging from $30 to $400.
Chanel sales fell 4%
Source: Business of Fashion
For the first time since 2020, the French fashion and beauty giant’s annual revenues for 2024 decreased 4.3% to $18.7 billion, and the operating profit fell 30% to $4.5 billion. Nonetheless, the company’s chief financial officer Philippe Blondiaux sees the drop still at a “very healthy level”, as the brand prepares to unveil the first collection by the new creative director Matthieu Blazy this autumn.
With the financial performance put under pressure in struggling major luxury markets like China and the US, Chanel is planning to expand in new countries including Mexico, India and Canada, and won’t increase prices this year.
Authentic Brands Group acquires Dockers
Source: Fashionista
Levi Strauss & Co. has sold the intellectual property of Dockers to Authentic Brands Group. The initial transaction’s value of $311 million, expected to reach up to $391 million, is expected to close on or around July 31.

What to watch this week 🎥
Think you need a fashion degree, connections, or a long resume to get a job in the industry? Or that the best jobs are necessarily at the top brands?
In this video, I'm busting the 8 most common myths about fashion careers — the ones that keep thousands of people from applying, building, and believing they can actually make it.
From “only designers need portfolios” to “you need experience to get experience” — I’ve heard it all (and believed some of them too). But none of these myths stopped me from landing an internship at Alexander McQueen without a degree or connections. Let’s change your mindset and your strategy — starting now!
What to visit this week
“Orizzonti/Rosso [Horizons/Red]” at the Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti Foundation, PM23 in Rome.
The foundation opens this weekend its first exhibition at the new PM23 space in Rome, dedicated to nothing but the red color so synonymous with the brand. The exhibition will be open to the public for free during the first 10 days after the inauguration.
“Giorgio Armani Privé 2005-2025, Twenty Years of Haute Couture” at Armani/Silos in Milan.
Solely dedicated to the designer’s “Privé” line, this is the first time the general public can get an up-close look at his haute couture creations, so don’t miss it. It’s already open and will run until Dec 28.
