Glam Observer Fashion Career Breakfast in Dubai
This Tuesday morning was beyond special: I hosted a fashion career breakfast with my students and followers in Dubai in partnership with Ladurée Dubai Hills Mall.
Imagine…A fashion talk at one of the most fashionable caffés on earth 💚

During this exclusive meet and greet, we had a deep two-hour chat about breaking into the fashion industry to help my students in their career journey. We have a big online community, but I value every opportunity to gather in person.
The sweet part: they were treated with a complimentary breakfast with coffee, croissants, and macaroons customized with the Glam Observer logo 😍
A big thank you to Ladurée UAE and their team at the Dubai Hills Mall, who received us so warmly, and everyone who came and made this day unforgettable 🫶🏻
What happened in the industry this week? 💚
Gap launches a new label
After an inaugural capsule collection for holiday 2024, Gap launched its first full GapStudio collection on Thursday, designed by Zac Posen. To make it happen, the creative director brought his personal team of artisans (in addition to Gap’s design team) — many of whom have been with him for over a decade.
The latest collection includes 24 styles with mini skirts, crop tops, a fitted jersey dress, denim and leather moto jackets, a trench coat, and the Anne Hathaway shirt dress in various colors.
Posen said he was inspired to create this collection after designing a dress for Anne Hathaway, which went viral last summer. “Within two weeks of her wearing the dress, we’d sold out of it, and I posed this amazing question that [Gap Inc. CEO Richard Dickson] often asks, which is ‘What if? Why not?‘” he told the Business of Fashion. Many fashion trends are indeed launched by celebrities.
The creative director wanted a more upscale collection with “more trend-driven pieces and an edgier point-of-view,” he told BoF, compared to Gap’s basic product offering, which also comes with an upscale price point, though still accessible—from $80 to $250. With this, he aims to compete with Gap’s rivals in the mass market category, like H&M, Zara, and Cos, but also Shein and Temu. Despite premium lines not being a new phenomenon at fast fashion brands, Posen’s red-carpet vibes truly stand out.
Cardi B x Revolve
Cardi B is launching a new business venture—her apparel and beauty brands in partnership with the California-based Revolve Group. Though the artist has previously collaborated with fashion and beauty labels like Fashion Nova, Reebok, and NYX, the collaboration with Revolve marks her first owned multi-category project. It also marks the retailer’s expansion into beauty, which “aims to build a billion-dollar fashion and lifestyle multi-brand powerhouse,” WWD reports.
“I know that when I leave this earth I would like to leave my kids more than property and a music catalog. I want to leave them wit something they can carry for generations to come, something that their mother built from the ground up,” Cardi B shared an emotional message in an exclusive interview with WWD.
We don’t know yet exactly what type of products the brands will include. However, from the artist’s statement shared with WWD, we are guessing we will find timeless basics (“ I want my brand to have that one piece that you buy, that you love, that it makes sense.”). In addition, Cardi B “wants to give her customers garments that fit and are tailored just right,” according to the publication.
Bella Hadid x Frankies Bikinis part 2
The second chapter of Bella Hadid’s collaboration with her childhood friend, Francesca Aiello, founder of Frankies Bikinis, is out. Launched on April 1st, the second drop includes denim swimwear (💙), timeless cotton dresses, and other pieces inspired by their Western roots.
Christian Louboutin launches first eyewear collection with Marcolin
The inventor of the iconic Red Soles is debuting his first eyewear collection in partnership with Italian manufacturer Marcolin, whose portfolio includes brands like Tom Ford, Zegna, Max Mara, and more.
Christian Louboutin and Marcolin revealed their exclusive global licensing agreement (lasting until 2029) in February 2024. Their debut collection will drop in two releases for spring and summer 2025. According to WWD, the distribution will be “highly selective” and “available only in the most prestigious locations worldwide”.
The eyewear collection comprises 25 styles, with each pair named after the brand’s footwear style. There is also a nice touch— the red sole’s shade used as a front embellishment.
