Coach launched a circular subbrand
“Coachtopia”, launched this Thursday, is a collection of bags, accessories, ready-to-wear, and shoes made with recycled, repurposed, and renewable materials, as part of the brand’s commitment to reach net-zero global emissions by 2050. This is said to be an even bigger sustainable project: “We’re focused on using waste, like production scraps, as raw materials. We had to rethink the entire system,” said to WWD Joon Silverstein, senior vice president of global marketing, creative and sustainability at Coach, and head of Coachtopia.
Another interesting thing is that for the first time, Coach worked with the Gen Z generation from climate activists, designers, and upcyclers to journalists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and fashion enthusiasts - to share their perspectives on circular fashion and help in the creation of Coachtopia. Prices are lower than the traditional brand’s products, ranging from $20 to $495.
