Happy Birthday Giada Graziano
365 days of fashion: the e-ncyclopedia of fashion

Hello everyone! This is Margarita Skacenko from the Glam Observer team, and we have a unique issue for you today.
It’s a special day because Giada Graziano, the founder of Glam Observer, Inside Fashion and 365 days of fashion is celebrating her birthday 🥳So I had the idea of interviewing Giada, asking 31 fun facts about her (because she turned 31) so you can get to know her a little better.
Hope you like it 🙂
Feel free to leave your comments under this post and tell us what fun fact you liked the most!
Where are you from originally? Cosenza, Calabria, a small town in South Italy.
Where are you currently based? Milan, Italy.
Do you have a middle name? Yes, I do! It’s Gelsomina like my late grandmother.
How old were you when you decided to work in fashion? Probably 18? I always say I don’t remember the exact moment :D I was about to decide what degree to take and I initially wanted to work in product development for beauty brands. But then I switched and decided fashion was more my path than beauty.
What do you do in your free time? If I am not working I am either cooking (I do cook all our family meals - lunch and dinner. We live in Milan but we only eat out/order once a week). I also enjoy doing Pilates with YouTube videos, cleaning/tidying the apartment, spending time with my family, watching a rom-com or series on Netflix, doing grocery shopping, or having a walk with my husband and Barry.
3 favorite designers/brands? I have many for different reasons. Saint Laurent (would wear everything), Alexander McQueen (the suits are impeccable, the collections are pieces of art plus it’s the first company I worked for so it has a special place in my heart) and Massimo Dutti is one I’ve been wearing a lot lately.
How would you describe your style? Minimal, timeless, and casual-chic.
Top (fashion) things to do in Milan according to you. Walking around the luxury stores (in Montenapoleone for example), they often organize some small exhibitions inside their stores. I recently went to Louis Vuitton, Hermès… I also love to attend fashion exhibitions. I visit a library almost every week and I spend at least 20 minutes in the fashion section as I am so inspired by fashion books. I also love newsstands here, in the small town where I grew up I only could access the Italian issues of magazines. It’s so fascinating to finally find international fashion magazines in Milan.
What’s the most memorable fashion event you’ve ever attended? The (British) Fashion Awards.
Best career moment: being on the Forbes Under 30 list in 2020.
Glam Observer provides a lot of career advice, but if someone had to ask you for the #1 advice, what would it be? Always believe in yourself even when others are not. You have to be your #1 fan. It’s the only thing that will really push you.
If you didn’t have Glam Observer, what other career would you pursue? If I was not working in fashion, I’d be a secret agent, work with the FBI or something like that :D
Can you show us your new GO offices?
Favorite color? I don’t have just one, it depends for what. But I like neutral shades with pink and brown tones. I also wear a lot of blue navy.
Favorite season? Fall and Christmas!
Favorite fashion documentary? The September Issue
Favorite TV Series? New Girl
Favorite fashion item in your closet? My first designer bag is a YSL Sunset. I got it for my 30th birthday in Paris so it’s linked to a special occasion and place. It’s so timeless, minimal, chic, and classic. It represents my style 100%.
Name 1 thing you have never told your readers about yourself. I took dance lessons from 6 until I was 18. I have two diplomas in classical and modern dance. I am also a fan of Lara Croft. Playing Tomb Raider video game was one of my favorite hobbies when I was younger.
3 words in which your loved ones would describe you. Generous, determined, and sweet (my mum added control freak which I have to admit is true and I’m working on it :D ).
3 things on your bucket list. I think it’s a fun exercise to do on your birthday. I’ll think about this.
Favorite drink and meal. PSL because we are in the fall now. For the meals, I have many favorites as I am a big food lover and I like everything :D but I’d say Pizza and Pasta are probably my favorite.
Best place in the world you’ve traveled to. Hard to pick one. But I’ll never forget my first time in New York. It was Christmas in 2014 with my family and my then-boyfriend, now husband. It was magical.
How did you meet your husband? Same class in high school but we didn’t start dating/noticing each other until the final year.
Do you have a pet? Yes, Barry, our three-year-old puddle toy.
Your first fashion internship? E-commerce Intern at Alexander McQueen.
Would you define yourself as an introvert or extrovert? Introvert.
What do you value the most in life? Family, love, happiness, health.
The quality you value the most in others? Kindness, humility, generosity.
Staying in or going out? Staying in.
How are you celebrating your birthday today? I was initially thinking of putting up our Christmas tree and baking some pizza but our oven just broke and my husband told me he booked a restaurant for dinner so that’s the new plan.
xx
