Gucci announces collab with Harry Styles
Taking the brand ambassador role of the beloved musician further
We have seen the likes of Balenciaga X The Simpsons, Gucci X Adidas, or Fendi X Versace and the luxury world of fashion is not slowing down anytime soon. The Kering-owned fashion house presented its latest collab this week with none other than Harry Styles.
The collection named HA HA HA is a partnership of friendship between the Creative Director Alessandro Michele, and the infamous singer and songwriter Harry Styles.
The 25-piece capsule collection will go on sale in Gucci stores from October. Gucci hopes to reach new heights with celebrity power with their medium-term sales target of €15 billion a year!
The collection was presented for the first time at Milan Fashion Week menswear edition at a special event. Creative Director of Gucci Alessandro Michele and Harry Styles met back in 2015 and have had a strong friendship ever since. Styles is known for breaking gender biases and often seen in Gucci ensembles on his tour. The collection is inspired by 1970’s, fun and friendship, playfulness, and a mix of English and Italian heritage.
“The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone: I proposed creating a ‘dream wardrobe’ with him, starting from those small oddities that come together in childlike visions. We ended up with a mix of aesthetics from 1970s pop and bohemian to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring.” - Alessandro Michele, Creative Director
Could there be a more fitting pair than Styles and Gucci? What do you think about luxury brands on celebrity collaborations?
A European Fashion Alliance has been formed
25 European fashion councils and organizations have joined forces to create one European union of fashion. The alliance was co-founded at a summit in Frankfurt, originally organized by Fashion Council Germany.
“Fashion is a key industry for creative design. I know that you have come together today, to discuss amongst others, the possibility of creating the European Fashion Alliance. I personally think this is a brilliant idea. See me as a facilitator and count on my support.” - Mariya Gabriel, European commissioner
The focus of the alliances of the councils is to work towards a sustainable and inclusive fashion future.
Europe's most valuable brands announce Louis Vuitton in top 10 The latest report released by Bran Finance shows that French powerhouse Louis Vuitton was the only luxury fashion company to make the top 10 of most valuable European brands.
The annual report for 2022 left LV at number eight, with Mercedes at number one with the majority of companies being German. Louis Vuitton has been valued at 20.2 billion euros as a brand.
The closest fashion company was 17th with Kering’s Gucci which was valued at 15.6 billion euros. Within the top 25, there were only three fashion houses that made the cut, also including Chanel at 24th with a value of 13.2 billion euros.
In a separate assessment of strength from Brand Finance, Dior is rated the 6th strongest brand.
Hailey Bieber has been served trademark infringement The model celebrated the launch week of her new skincare line Rhode. However this week she was met with legal action over the name of her brand.
Rhode which is Bieber’s middle name and holds a special meaning to the brand, as the name she also shares with her mother who taught her all about skincare and taking care of herself.
After a week of press, live TV, a launch party, and a successful sell-out, legal action has now been taken by fashion company ‘Rhode’ over the name. Founded in 2014 by Phoebe Vickers and Purna Khatau, their fashion brand is currently stocked at Net-a-Porter and Matches. The founders released this statement to Instagram:
It seems Hailey Bieber had tried to purchase the name from the fashion company back in 2018 but they refused after building a business from the ground. What do you think will happen next?
Fashion Career Tip of the Week
How do you succeed at the job interview so you can land the fashion job of your dreams? Only 2% of the applicants get a job interview. And in fashion where on average 500 people apply for the same job, this means that only 10 people get to the job interview and only 1 at the end gets the job.
Just getting the job interview is an enormous achievement you should be very proud of. The hardest part in fact of the job search many times is in fact getting to this interview.
The final hiring decision is based on two things:
65% of the hiring decision is given by a gut feeling about whether you’ll be a good fit for the company
35% is influenced by how you answer, say and do during the job interview
So if you need help mastering the job interview, listen to the podcast episode to learn 3 things to refresh (or learn) before going to a job interview with a fashion company now on Apple Podcast or Spotify

A first glimpse at Gucci X Harry Styles…
Gucci’s creative director shared a small snippet of the tag on her Instagram in light of the news this week.
