Today, American fashion designer Michael Kors is celebrating his 64th birthday. On this occasion, we prepared an overview of his career so that you can learn the most important things about the iconic designer, from how he started in fashion to how he launched his eponymous label (+ fun facts at the end).
In 1977, the aspiring fashion designer enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. He also took a job at a New York store Lothar’s where he was selling his designs. They got noticed by Dawn Mello, the former vice-president of Bergdorf Goodman, who gave him the opportunity to show his collection at the department store.
