Dior, Louis Vuitton and Chanel are giving us summer vibes with their new pop up stores at the Beverly Hills and the Hamptons.
Dior opened a Dioriviera pop-up store at Beverly Hills Hotel and will be open through September 4.
The new pop up, previously staged at the Rosewood Miramar in Montecito, California, and Gurney's in Montauk, New York, sells pieces of the latest Diorriviera capsule, which includes summer apparel and accessories. Many of them come in a pink-and-grey color palette, including a signature toile de Jouy print, which was also used for the poolside "Le Jardin des Rêves" spa, only available to hotel guests.
Louis Vuitton and Chanel opened stores in the Hamptons
For Louis Vuitton, this is the first store in the Hamtons, located at One Main Street and will be open through September. It offers men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods, accessories, fragrance, high jewelry, watches, trunks and the Objets Nomades home products. Additionally, to celebrate the opening of the new boutique, Louis Vuitton gives an exclusive preview of the new LV By The Pool collection of ready-to-wear, handbags, and accessories. It will be available only at the East Hampton store until June 2, after which the collection will launch globally. The brand said the store will be permanent and operate seasonally, so it won’t be an ephemeral pop-up.
As for Chanel, it reopened the doors to its seasonal ephemeral store in the Hamptons at Newtown Lane. It offers handbags, small leather goods, accessories, watches and fine jewelry, fragrance and beauty products, and pieces from the Coco Beach and Metiers d’Art 2023/24 collections. The boutique’s garden means to immerse Chanel guests into the experience of “Chanel À La Plage”.
Opening these pop up stores allows luxury brands to experiment with new locations, in addition to having permanent flagships and other stores all over the world. This way, brands can reach new customers and connect with them. Physical stores offer indeed a more personalized experience than ecommerce, for instance, and offer customers unique, limited-edition items and the latest releases.
Moreover, through pop ups and additional services, like we saw with the example of the Dior Spa salon, fashion houses create a more complete experience for customers who are able not to just buy the products, but immerse themselves into the lifestyle of the brand.

Carolina Herrera staged a Resort show in Brazil
The latest Carolina Herrera’s Resort show took place on Thursday night at a private residence in Rio de Janeiro. The choice of the location reflects the brand’s strong relationship not only with Brazil but with all Latin American continent. The founder Carolina Herrera was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and has visited Brazil on various occasions, for instance for the launch of its “Good Girl Dot Drama” perfume in 2019.
The current creative director Wes Gordon explained to WWD that “Brazil is one of the biggest Latin American markets for us, and it’s in the top 10 globally.” He added that he’s always been inspired by the allure of Brazil: “The color, the beauty, the joy, the sensuality and optimism…Those are all words we use to describe Herrera as well.”
Thom Browne to show his first Couture collection
According to Vogue, Thom Browne will skip Men's Fashion Week in Paris this summer in order to present a collection during Paris Haute Couture fashion week in July. He shared with the magazine that the couture collection will be a one-time deal though and not tied to a specific season or category.
"I've been showing my collection in Paris for 12 years, so I always think of couture as being the ultimate challenge in regards to quality, construction and design," he said. "I strive this for every collection, and this being the 20th anniversary of the [brand], I thought it was a nice time to celebrate in this way... I look forward to people coming to the showroom after the show and telling this story and showing how beautifully made everything is."
Moschino launched its first collection for M05CH1N0 Jeans line
The new line is a reinterpretation of the 1986 Moschino Jeans range launched by the label’s late founder, Franco Moschino. The denim collection includes women’s ready-to-wear and accessories that will drop at Moschino’s stores and ecommerce this month, and are priced between 149 and 621 euros.
Stefano Gallici is Ann Demeulemeester’s new creative director
After the announcement last week that Ludovic de Saint Sernin is leaving Ann Demeulemeester, the Belgian brand named Stefano Gallici its new creative director. He will present his first collection during Paris Fashion Week on September 30.
Gallici is not new to the brand, as he previously worked there as menswear designer. Before that, he was working as an assistant designer to Haider Ackermann, and then moved on to the Antonioli Group in January 2019.
Simone Bellotti is Bally’s new design director
As the former creative director Rhuigi Villaseñor recently left Bally, the Swiss brand has named Simone Bellotti its new design director. He will present his first collection during Milan Fashion Week in September.
Simone Bellotti joined Bally last October after a 16-year tenure at Gucci, and previously, he held senior design positions at Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta and Gianfranco Ferré.
New Appointements at New Guards Group
The company’s CEO Davide De Giglio and his cofounder, executive director and Off-White CEO Andrea Grilli have stepped down from their roles. They have been replaced by Stephanie Phair as chair of New Guards Group (she was promoted to group president of Farfetch last September), and Cristiano Fagnani as Off-White's CEO (he joined New Guards Group in January 2020 as chief marketing officer).
The 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards date is released
The event will take place on November 6 at the American Museum of Natural History. Amazon Fashion will be the presenting partner. Nominees and honorees across womenswear, menswear and accessories categories will be revealed in mid-September.
The CFDA Fashion Awards is an event that celebrates American fashion’s creative excellence and provides program funding for the organization’s pillars - student scholarships, sustainability, business development, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Giorgio Armani to release a new book
The designer’s autobiography “Per Amore” will be released in the U.S. on Tuesday. It includes stories of Giorgio Armani spanning from his early childhood days until today, illustrated by personal photos, and his thoughts on the events that marked his life and the world recently.
Gucci released new Chime video series
Marking its 10th anniversary, Gucci unveiled a new video series directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy to renew its commitment to Chime for Change, now called Chime, which is a global campaign to support gender equality. For the new video, Gucci invited Annie Lennox, Halle Bailey, Julia Roberts, Idris and Sabrina Elba, Alia Bhatt, Serena Williams, John Legend, Julia Garner, Jodie Turner-Smith and Salma Hayek Pinault together to speak out about what equality means to them.
Gucci Chime was launched in 2013 by Gucci, together with co-founders Salma Hayek Pinault and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. So far, it has raised $21.5 million, which has impacted the lives of 635,000 girls and women globally through more than 500 projects in 92 countries through 185 nonprofit partners.
What’s new in sustainability 🌱
LVMH plans to provide environmental training for all its employees by 2026
200,000 employees of the luxury group are expected to be trained in “environmental fundamentals” by 2026, under a five-year partnership with the Vallée de la Millière association, which will host visits from students, nongovernmental organizations and scientists starting next year, and sustainable fashion hub La Caserne for its 37,500 employees based in France.
