Want to become the next editor-in-chief of Vogue US?
Anna Wintour is stepping down from her role. But wait — she is not leaving Vogue!
The magazine is looking for a new head of editorial content (so not an editor-in-chief) who will lead the magazine’s daily operations across all platforms and report directly to Wintour, in keeping with the heads of editorial content at all editions of Vogue.
So well, we can sleep peacefully. Anna Wintour is not actually leaving 🙌🏻😮💨 She will continue in her roles as Global Editorial Director for Vogue and Chief Content Officer for Condé Nast (overseeing every brand globally, including Vanity Fair, GQ, Glamour, and others).
Still, this moment kind of marks the end of an era after 37 years!! as the leader of the biggest fashion publication. Wintour started her career there in 1983 as creative director, then became editor-in-chief of the British edition in 1985, and returned to Vogue US in 1988, now as editor-in-chief.
She changed everything in the magazine – from the staff to Vogue’s vision, to how its covers looked. Her first November 1988 issue featured a 19-year-old model, Michaela Bercu, on the cover, wearing a $50 pair of faded jeans and a bejeweled jacket by Christian Lacroix worth $10,000. It was revolutionary because it was the first time a Vogue cover model had worn jeans!
Although she is not going anywhere, the truth is that no one is ready for a Vogue without Anna Wintour as it used to be, and probably we will never be. She is an icon.
What else happened in the industry this week? 💚
Men’s Fashion Week
Fashion Week is back again, with Men’s shows in Milan and Paris!
Today, Jonathan Anderson will finallyyy make his highly anticipated debut at Dior. Put your alarms at 2 PM CET to watch the show live on Dior’s website and socials 👀
Meanwhile, the creative director unveiled a sneak peek into his first look for Dior Homme on Kylian Mbappé.
But Anderson isn’t the only designer making a debut in Paris this week. Julian Klausner, the new creative director of Dries Van Noten, presented his first menswear collection on Thursday, following his first womenswear show for the label in March.
And let’s talk about Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring 2026 scenography for a moment 😍 Architect Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai reimagined Place Centre Pompidou (hello, another iconic location), drawing on visual codes from the game of Snakes and Ladders.
Earlier this week, Milan Fashion Week, held on June 20-24, has seen the return of some big names (Prada, Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana…) but not Gucci, Fendi, or Zegna, which sat this season out, nor Brunello Cucinelli, Brioni, Tod’s, or DSquared2 which skipped the runway format.
Another highlight was Vivienne Westwood, which held its first solo presentation of menswear since 2017 (the label has typically staged a co-ed show in Paris).
The Italian fashion capital also welcomed Paul Smith, who normally shows in Paris. Fellow British label Dunhill also staged its first show in the city.
Jacquemus is heading to Versailles again
Well, well, Simon Porte Jacquemus will reportedly stage his fall 2025 show at l’Orangerie du Château de Versailles, closing Paris Men's Fashion Week. It will mark the designer’s comeback after his first-ever runway at the Château in 2023.
While the choice to present a collection, dubbed “Le Paysan” aka a countryside life thematic at a royal palace might sound confusing, the founder confessed: “Le Paysan felt like that moment, a collection that tells the story of where I come from, but also where we’re heading,” he told WWD. “The Château de Versailles, to me, represents the proof that dreams can come true.”
Ahead of the show, the designer unveiled a moving campaign, recreating shots from the past from his family’s memories.
Telfar stages a 20th anniversary show
Last Saturday, Telfar held its first runway presentation in New York in three years, and it was a special one, marking the 20th anniversary of the brand. The show was staged in an alleyway behind Telfar’s flagship store, featuring 200 models, among whom were friends of the brand, as well as family members. Telfar Clemens’ (the founder) mother walking the runway was a cute moment.
Skims x Roberto Cavalli
Retro glamour alert! Kim Kardashian’s Skims is launching today at 9 AM EST an exclusive swimwear collection with Roberto Cavalli, which is its second luxury designer collaboration since Dolce & Gabbana last year. Inspired by the allure of Euro Summer, the collection is an ode to Italian retro glamour, fusing Cavalli’s bold, exotic prints with Skims’ sculpting signature swimwear silhouettes. The vintage vibe of the campaign is simply iconic.
Mugler unveils an archival capsule
Feeling nostalgic: Ahead of Miguel Castro Freitas’s (the new creative director appointed in March) debut during Paris Fashion Week in September, Mugler launched a Re/Edit capsule collection of 24 looks inspired by ready-to-wear and couture collections between 1985 and 2000.
The capsule will be available from September on Mugler’s online boutique and select specialty stores worldwide.
Prada’s CEO is leaving
Gianfranco D'Attis and Prada agreed to part ways “by mutual agreement”. He will reportedly leave his role as CEO of Prada on June 30. Prada Group CEO Andrea Guerra will succeed on an interim basis.
Willy Chavaria and Fendi: A possible future?
According to sources, Fendi has had discussions with Willy Chavaria to become the next creative director. The spot has remained open since Kim Jones exited the brand last October after four years as its artistic director of haute couture, ready-to-wear, and fur collections for women.
However, Chavaria’s appointment is not certain at the moment, as there are other potential candidates, including John Galliano, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who recently left Dior, and Francesco Risso, who recently parted ways with Marni.
Chanel launches a magazine
Chanel is launching Arts & Culture Magazine as part of the brand’s aim to support print and bookstores around the world. The new publication, led by Chanel’s Culture Fund and Yana Peel, the president of arts, culture, and heritage at the Maison, will revisit its collaboration with artists and cultural institutions in the last five years.
Inaugurated at the Foreign Exchange News in Bayswater in London (until June 28), the first issue will be available in 20 bookstores worldwide including shops in Amsterdam, Bangalore, Bangkok, Berlin, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Milan, New York, Paris, São Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo and Zurich.
