Britain Museum is producing a major Chanel exhibition for 2023
The V&A is set to stage the first UK exhibition dedicated to Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel.
The exhibition will be dedicated to the work of French couturière, focusing on her establishment of the most iconic fashion house to date, Chanel. The exhibition will explore from her first boutique opening in the streets of Paris in 1910 to her final collection in 1971.
Featuring over 180 looks seen together for the first-ever time, as well as iconic jewellery, accessories and fragrance.
“The exhibition will explore Chanel’s pioneering approach to fashion design, which paved the way for a new feminine elegance and continues to influence the way women dress today.” - V&A Museum
The exhibition is set to open in September 2023, it is said that the display comes after a consumer interest in Chanel is booming. (As we found out last week ;) )
Balenciaga release their Fall 22 Campaign This week Balenciaga dropped another well-anticipated campaign starring Bella Hadid, Aya Nakamura, Zuo Chen and more.
The fashion houses Fall 2022 Campaign takes a 90’s twist. Referencing the post-grunge era against a musky grey backdrop. The good news is, that this set of imagery is only the first instalment of the multi-series campaign set to drop.
The campaign is shot by Nadia Lee Cohen, a British filmmaker and photographer.
Fast Fashion Empire Missguided falls into administration the British ecommerce retailer has put 140 jobs at risk as it fails to find a buyer. Boohoo had shown previous interest but never made any offers.
With customers worrying about orders that never made it to them and employees panicking about their jobs. It has just been announced that Sports Direct owner Frasers Group has bought Missguided for £20m. However it is still said that over 80 staff will still be made redundant.
What will be the future of Manchester’s fast fashion community?
Gucci launches virtual town on Roloblox the digital space on the popular US game offers a Vault Plaza and Gucci store.

Nike X Louis Vuitton Exhibition was held in New York fully dedicated to the partnership of the two brands, the exhibition displays a collection of 47 customised Nike ‘Air Force 1’ originally co-designed by the fashion house’s late creative director, Virgil Abloh.
The trainer collaboration was designed as part of Abloh'‘s Spring 2022 collection for Louis Vuitton, shortly before he passed away. The exhibition honoured his designs and the creativity only he could bring to the fashion world. As one of the most anticipated pairings to hit the runway, it is only right to celebrate the talent of Virgil Abloh in true street style.
The exhibition was held on 73 West Street in Brooklyn.

Tiffany uncovers Paris pop-up boutique
This week Tiffany & Co. showcased their one-year-long pop up on the bougiest street of Paris, Avenue Montaigne. The location in the 8th Av known for housing the most luxury fashion brands.
The exhibition experience will also feature the original catalogue from when Charles Lewis Tiffany purchased nearly one-third of the French Crown Jewels in an auction at the Louvre in Paris. A historic peice not to miss from the legacy of the jeweller.

The pop up boutique features plenty of Tiffany Archives, you will have to go see!

What to watch this week
Cannes Film Festival 2022 came to a close last week, but the content did not.
Although it may not be a fashion event, it is the most prestigious awards ceremony in film history. So it in fact attracts a lot of A list celebrities from Julia Roberts to Anne Hathaway to one of the most glamorous red carpets in the world. We see garment from Haute Couture or custom to fresh from the runway.

Nadia Lee Cohen Is becoming one of the most renowned fashion photographers with a unique angle. She has worked with Kim Kardashian on Skims, Maison Margiela, Balenciaga and is the face of Schiaparelli, personally picked by their Creative Director Daniel Roseberry.
