Shocking: The Surreal World of Elsa Schiaparelli

Elie Saab Launches Couture for Men in latest AW 23 Show
Making their runway debut last Wednesday
Elie Saab had men join the women on his couture runway in voluminous capes with feathers and glittering beadwork. The eccentric and enchanting moment took place at Le Carreau du Temple in the Haut-Marais district of Paris.
Former ASOS chief Nick Beighton is MatchesFashion's new CEO
Beighton will be Matchesfashion’s fourth CEO in the past 5 years. The previous Chief of e-commerce giant ASOS was there from 2016-2021 launching the company’s annual revenue from 178 million pounds to 3.9 billion pounds while expanding its employee workforce from 150 people to 15,000 people.

Dior retracts lawsuit against Valentino
Valentino held their Couture show on steps in Rome on the city's Piazza di Spagna last weekend. Dior was quick to file a report accusing Valentino of blocking their store and stopping any sales being made as no customers entered the store all afternoon.
Originally asking for 100.000 euros in compensation for lost revenues that day, giving Valentino 15 days to make the payment. The retail manager of Christian Dior Italia has suddenly retracted the entire lawsuit this week.
Their store located on the corner of Via Condotti and facing Piazza di Spagna, was also where people gathered to catch a glimpse of the Valentino show.

Dua Lipa set for Second Drop With Puma
This week the latest Flutur collection, a collaboration between pop star Dua Lipa and sportswear label Puma dropped. With over 30 pieces and prices ranging from 50 to 150 euros.
More brands than ever are beginning to collaborate with celebrities and it continues to prove successful.
The unisex and inclusive size range collection is inspired by Y2K and 90s sports athleisure and rave wear. The retro tracksuits and footwear feature holographic prints and bright-colored moments. This will be the partnership’s second collection, with both featuring a butterfly icon. Though this was inspired by vintage rave flyers, it also means new beginnings to the pop star.

Federico Marchetti has been Reappointed to Giorgio Armani’s Board
As the first ever non-family member to join the luxury labels board back in 2020, it seems Marchetti has returned to Armani,
On Monday he wished the designer a Happy Birthday on Instagram, while also revealing he had been reappointed.
The caption reads “very honored to be reappointed for another three adventurous years.”
Marchetti founded Yoox and also pushed for the partnership of Net-a-porter. Armani became one of the first fashion houses to embark on online retailing in 2007, opening an online store with Yoox.
‘Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour’ Exhibition opens this September
Opening at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art on the 10th of September, with more than 200 years of American fashion on display.
Beginning with iconic and classic pieces of American fashion, the exhibition curators had to narrow down the collection to half its original size for the museum. With nearly 100 fashion houses and designers featured in the final collection, including Levi Strauss, Nike, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Nudie Cohn, Halston, Carolina Herrera and Anna Sui.
From glamorous Hollywood garments to denim jeans and cowboy boots, the first Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour exhibition is entirely dedicated to the first to present American fashion as a legendary visual culture that was rocketed by movies, red carpets, and TV to become a global symbol.
The exhibition offers an interactive experience from videos and imagery to around 90 garments and accessories covered from two centuries of fashion. Celebrating iconic fashion brands who impacted what America means in fashion.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas & Nick Jonas invest in the fashion industry for the first time, the sportswear brand Perfect Moment, founded in France has received a Hollywood investment.
The A-list couple has said this is the first time they have ventured into a partnership in the fashion industry.

Exclusive to London store Harrods, Jimmy Choo has partnered with the retail store to bring you the ultimate experience of luxury.
The café opened this month and will remain open for 3 months until the end of September.
The ‘Choo Café’ menu celebrates British summertime with a select choice of fresh strawberries, raspberries, tea, and champagne within patisseries along with classic picnic sandwiches.
The fuchsia pink décor is no mistake, it has been the luxury footwear and accessories label’s signature for many years.
Open from 10am-8pm Monday through Saturday and 12pm-6pm on Sundays.
What to watch this week
Couture week has blown us away but Valentino… Well, creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli really knows how to put on a show.
Set in Piazza di Spagna, Rome, the show quickly became a memorable one. With the sunset glowing on the impeccable setting, the diverse runway did not get lost in its surroundings.
Following the news of Dior’s sudden drop of their court case, why not watch the show that caused all the drama (and stole our hearts)…
