Let’s talk about Fashion KPIs and specific terms used by fashion professionals internally for different purposes.
SKU= Stock Keeping Unit is a code made up of a combination of letters and numbers (CTT001WRTW87) that identify a specific product of the collection. It’s used mostly by buyers and those working in retail to keep track of the stock, but it’s also used by manufacturers or anyone internally who needs information or has to refer to a specific product for different reasons such as analyzing sales, tracking shipping, etc.
The letters and numbers are not randomly generated. Each part or segment of the code for example (CTT001WRT23W87) in fact identifies a characteristic of the product: the fabric (cotton), the color (001 black), the season (WRTW women ready to wear 2023) the manufacturer.
